Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Exercise Planner Combat Plans Subject Matter Expert. The candidate will be a member of the Air Operations Center Replication Cell (AOC RC), 505 Combat Training Squadron, Hurlburt Field, FL.  As exercise planners they will work with joint and coalition partners planning large scale combat operations exercises.  Each exercise will use the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) which occurs over a 12–18-month period.  The AOC RC planners will participate in at least 12 exercises per year.  The planners will participate in all planning events and executions.  Travel will include exercise planning events and if required go forward as a 505 CTS AOC RC LNO. Work location is onsite at Hurlburt Field, FL.  Travel Expectaion is 30%.

Responsibilities

The planner will know the details of doctrinal AOC air mobility cell processes to provide comprehensive tanker and airlift planning and execution expertise typically covering air mobility mission sets (e.g. air refueling, airlift, aeromedical evacuation and combat airdrop) to the AOC RC. They will be capable of planning all required air mobility missions as depicted in the MAAP and the ATO. Planner will role play the various activities of the AMD executing the planned ATO, while reacting to dynamic changes to air mobility missions. As required, the planner will participate in exercise deliberate planning and execution at home station or TDY location or go forward as the AOC LNO.

 

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record and professional interest in training and teaching others, as well as extensive experience in conducting operational and tactical level joint and coalition air operations. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Air Operations Center Replication Cell and will exemplify and serve as a model to all staff of Global Consulting Inc values of client-focus, excellence, impact, and teamwork.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design air operations into each exercise.
  • During planning events strategically and operationally plan air operations to support event training objectives.
  • Prepare the squadron leadership, Contracting Office Representative, and AOC RC for each event.
  • Advise AOC RC on how to execute air operations for each exercise scenario.
  • Analyze and conduct assessment on the planned execution.
  • Write trip reports and after-action reports specifically detailing on how training objectives were or were not achieved.  Reports are due five business days after each event.
  • Mentor the training audience during all planning events.
  • Remain current on CJCSM, CJCSI, Joint and Service doctrine, TTP, external learning and development opportunities and best practices.
  • Maintain a clearance of TS/SCI.

 

Qualifications

  • Required Experience (at least two)
  • 2-4 years of joint exercise planning.
  • 2 years’ experience of L/V/C.
  • 3 years total experience working with operational level air power command and control.
  • 2 years’ experience using the appropriate C2 Core tools, MAAP TK, JTT-CP, etc.
  • Participation in a minimum of 3 exercises or large-scale joint training events.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro required
  • TS/SCI Security Clearance Required
