Overview

We are searching for a Protocol Assistant to assist in ceremonies, conferences, briefings, official and social functions, and high-level foreign and domestic visits in support units of the 432d Wing located at Creech AFB, NV. The 432 WG is a remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) wing, providing all operations, logistics, and support aspects of MQ-1 Predator, MQ-9 Reaper, and RQ-170 RPA training and employment. The operational and maintenance squadrons focus on Predator and Reaper operations. RPAs are currently being flown by pilots and sensor operators based in the Continental United States (CONUS) to provide support to contingency operations worldwide, as well as providing MQ-1/-9 and RQ-170 training. Performance location is at Creech AFB, NV.

Responsibilities

  • The contractor shall assist the 432 Wing Commander in planning, managing and executing the 432 Wing Protocol program to include ceremonies, conferences, briefings, official and social functions, and high-level foreign and domestic.
  • The contractor shall assist the Chief of Protocol in the development and implementation of protocol policy and procedural guidance for the 432 Wing Commander, Vice Commander, and other applicable personnel concerning proper protocol requirements for visiting dignitaries, military ceremonies, conferences, official meetings, briefings, etc.
  • The contractor shall act upon requests in a timely, courteous, and helpful manner, and proactively assist project officers on ceremonies, social events, Air Force traditions, US and international protocol, and protocol rules and regulations for other military components.
  • The contractor shall assist the Chief of Protocol in personally performing or arranging for others to meet and greet high ranking dignitaries upon their arrival and accompany them through various phases of their visit.
  • The contractor shall assist the Chief of Protocol in interfacing with Department of the Air Force, Department of Defense, other government agencies, and foreign embassies in the planning and execution to ensure that all areas have been considered.
  • The contractor shall assure that arrangements and details are tailored to each particular protocol event, considering the visitor's country, position, culture, and diplomatic code. The contractor shall ensure that topics covered relate to the purpose of the visit and that follow-up actions are taken.
  • The contractor shall meet and escort distinguished visitors on behalf of the Command Section. The contractor shall accompany guests through various phases of their visits, ensuring they are accorded all honors and courtesies due to individuals of their rank/status. 4.2.12.7.4 The contractor shall work special projects which require sensitivity to individuals and groups representing a variety of nationalities, cultures, and politics. The contractor shall apply protocol details concerning base operations, security, tours, activities, briefings, baggage, billeting, dining arrangements, transportation, receptions, luncheons, formal dinners, entertainment, amenities, mementos, and other services to distinguished visitors.
  • Protocol guidelines are usually broad in scope and require the employee to develop specific applications and objectives. The employee is expected to use judgment and discretion in interpreting existing guidelines. Guidelines apply directly to some aspects of the problems encountered, but most assignments involve unique facts or aspects for which no clear- cut precedents are appropriate or guidelines are so broad that various interpretations are possible. The contractor shall use seasoned judgment in applying guidelines and making interpretations regarding the handling of local issues and responding quickly to sensitive situations involving high-level personnel.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Required DoD Clearance
  • Required Associate’s Degree or five years of comparable HQ ACC presentation, protocol, and operations staffing experience.
  • Required fluent in technical and conversational speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Required at least five years’ Protocol experience with General Officer-level event planning and coordination; itinerary development; and knowledge of Air Force protocol regulations.
  • Required recent MAJCOM or Air Staff presentation, protocol, and operations support experience within the last four years.
  • Required three years’ experience in all forms of multimedia, to include computer-generated graphics, music, and video for use within Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
  • Required three years’ experience with DOD and Air Force automated data processing standards, policies, and techniques.
