Overview

Corporate headquarters are in Shalimar, Florida. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) is an echelon three organization of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).  NSWC IHEODTD is the Department of Defense (DoD) Energetics Center and serves as its Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Program lead. This contract supports a variety of disciplines to include, but not limited to engineering, physical sciences, test and evaluation, facilities engineering, life cycle logistics, project management, equipment services, safety, quality, occupational health, machining, supply chain management, contracting, financial management, purchasing, security, information technology, cyber security, human resources, business and communications. The IHU construct encompasses four primary colleges – Technical, Business, General Studies and Leadership – all of which include the learning and development needs of the entire workforce across all disciplines. Additionally, tasks may address varying levels of proficiency to include basic/entry, mid-career/journeymen and experienced/expert, as well as focused areas to include leadership competencies, supervisory, and educational and professional certifications. Position is Technical Instructor/Course Developer. Position is pending contract award.

Responsibilities

 

  • Primarily responsible for curriculum revision and maintenance. Technical curriculum may involve electronics, welding, or more highly technical areas such as radio and electronics repair, engineering, safety, quality, project management or operation of weapons systems.
  • Uses a computer to organize and draft a curriculum that breaks a complex subject into blocks or units of instruction, creates graphics, and integrates them into curriculum. Courses may be instructor based, computer-based, simulator based, interactive, or non-interactive.
  • Teaches short technical courses in accordance with approved curriculum to maintain proficiency and to evaluate and develop new instructional techniques/courses. Job duties also include the following: incorporation of new curriculum in the teaching process (e.g., develops clarification or examples of application related to the subject matter), development and maintenance of classroom techniques that reflect professionalism and good discipline and enhance teaching, development of alternative teaching techniques and scenarios to maintain high motivation and interest in the subject areas, and while acting as the testing officer, the conducting of test analysis and development or revision of test items.

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years’ experience
  • Secret Clearance
