Overview

Corporate headquarters are in Shalimar, Florida. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) is an echelon three organization of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).  NSWC IHEODTD is the Department of Defense (DoD) Energetics Center and serves as its Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Program lead. This contract supports a variety of disciplines to include, but not limited to engineering, physical sciences, test and evaluation, facilities engineering, life cycle logistics, project management, equipment services, safety, quality, occupational health, machining, supply chain management, contracting, financial management, purchasing, security, information technology, cyber security, human resources, business and communications. The IHU construct encompasses four primary colleges – Technical, Business, General Studies and Leadership – all of which include the learning and development needs of the entire workforce across all disciplines. Additionally, tasks may address varying levels of proficiency to include basic/entry, mid-career/journeymen and experienced/expert, as well as focused areas to include leadership competencies, supervisory, and educational and professional certifications. Position is Technical Instructor. Position is pending contract award.

Responsibilities

 

  • Teaches one or more short courses in a technical trade or craft such as electronics, machining, maintenance and repair, prepares an instructional program in accordance with training or other course requirements, assembling materials to be presented.
  • Teaches assigned topics in accordance with approved curriculum effectively utilizing all allotted time, maintains proficiency in instructional techniques, incorporates current examples in the teaching process (e.g. develops clarification or real world examples of application related to the subject matter); develops and maintains classroom techniques that reflect professionalism, good discipline and enhance teaching.
  • Provid alternates teaching techniques in order to maintain high motivation and interest in the subject areas, administers grades, records and critiques examinations; prepares and administers remedial assignments, submits written recommendations for curriculum updates to ensure consistency with changes and innovations in latest applicable publications or documents.

 

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Five (5) years’ experience performing as an instructor of technical subjects
  •  
  • Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) or other service equivalent in a technical area
  • Secret Clearance
