  • Overview

    The 608 AOC at Barksdale AFB requires Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to provide specialized contract AOC functional operators, technicians and subject matter experts (SME) to augment, enhance forces and operations.

     

    Responsibilities

    Ensure SIPRNet and JWICS servers, workstations, peripherals, communications devices, and software are on-line and available to the user as outlined in AFI 13-1 AOC Volume 3:


    Install, configure and maintain all AOC C2 systems servers on a daily basis.


    Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of AOC C2 systems at off-site locations as required.
    Administer C2 operating systems.


    Load C2 system application software and patches on as required.


    Install, configure and maintain system workstations on as required.


    Perform backup of C2 systems


    Manage all AOC small computer/terminal resources.


    Manage user computer software configurations and tactical LAN systems.


    Coordinate with users, workgroup managers, and communications focal point personnel to resolve computer software and hardware problems on an approximately daily basis.


    Coordinate with communications focal point personnel for changes to computers, servers, or LAN systems on C2 systems network.


    Participate in Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of C2 systems and new technologies.


    Provide C2 systems administration and engineering planning, integration, implementation and operations in support of all operations, exercises, and major experiments per year.


    Provide mentorship to newly assigned C2 systems administrators and engineers as required.


    Collaborate with local AOC Training Managers as necessary to ensure mission qualification training (MQT) requirements and instruction are accurate and reflect the individual AOC configurations, technologies and support responsibilities quarterly.


    Travel in support of operations in support of war, contingency and humanitarian operations, exercises and experiments that may require CONUS and OCONUS travel.
     

     

    Qualifications

    A Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)


    At least three (3) years of demonstrated relevant experience working with AOC Weapon Systems and familiar with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 13-1 AOC Volume 3 Operational Procedures – Air and Space Operations Center, secure facility access processes.


    Possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience (or two (2) years of technical training plus two (2) years’ experience) providing maintenance, technical, logistics, and life cycle support for the types of equipment applicable to the maintenance of a network.


    Experience/certifications:


    NIPRNet and SIPRNet network enterprise environments;


    Microsoft Windows operating system software for servers and workstations;


    Solaris operating systems;


    VMWare;


    Oracle software for servers and workstations;


    Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification;


    IAT level II certification(s) IAW DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement program; Minimum CompTIA Security+ CE certification


    Completion of a formal C2 FTU AOCIQTSYS and/or AOCIQTNET course or equivalent;


    Demonstrated relative knowledge of intelligence capabilities, processes, and tasking mechanisms necessary to support Government efforts for performance of AOC WS.
