B3H Corporation is seeking qualified candidates to provide support, assistance, advice and training for the efficient and effective management and operation of the Academic Affairs Branch/Academic Support Section within the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC), Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, TX. The position will provide a variety of management and professional services to include: 1) Developing plans, programs and procedures; 2) Making recommendations on organizational policy/directives; 3) Accomplishing data analysis and lessons learned development; 4) Drafting reports; 5) Providing reviews, evaluations and recommendations on subjects of highly specialized areas of concern; 6) Conducting coordination efforts with program sponsors, management and technical personnel, support organizations and outside agencies; 7) Supplementing METC Faculty and Staff’s knowledge and expertise in the areas of (but not limited to) instructional delivery processes, curriculum development, course evaluation, academic counseling, instructional qualification records, and institutional and programmatic accreditations.
Serves as Academic and Education Counselor to sustain an extremely complicated and complex program that provides Academic and Formal Education Counseling Services.
Gives guidance in a non-supervisory capacity to METC staff and students by developing programs designed to assist students in learning.
Assists with the operation of the METC Student Learning Center and the Instructor Resources Center.
Develops and use follow-up surveys to evaluate work performance.
Develops educational procedures and standards and establish performance requirements to be used by FS&SD to evaluate instructors’ preparation in the use of proper counseling techniques.
Gives advice, counsel, and instruction to instructors to improve quality of academic counseling provided to students.
Develops and revise courses to envelop new concepts and technology in academic and career counseling techniques.
Develops the performance standards for academic and career counseling programs by establishing program goals and standards, which are annually reported to the IDD Associate Dean; with evaluations and recommended solutions to any identified trends and deficiencies.
Monitors the latest techniques and strategies related to academic counseling and learning to include the use of technology.
Provides training programs to the teaching staff, in regard to academic counseling and learning techniques.
