  • Overview

    Support ACC A3J that provides policy, guidance and resources necessary to organize train and equip Rescue Forces to deliver Rescue capabilities in support of US Government objectives across the range of military operations, and ensure at-risk personnel, commanders and staffs are prepared to execute.  A3J engages to posture the force to rescue anyone, anywhere at any time in any way to return them with honor.  Specifically A3J advocates for:  1) PR policies and strategic guidance and assists with determining PR force requirements 2) Programming, standards and policies that foster both interoperability and enhanced PR capabilities 3) Training, standards and requirements to build and maintain an effective PR C2 architecture 4) Robust readiness or Rescue forces and it’s assigned weapons systems of HC-130P/J, HH-60G, and Guardian Angel (CRO/PJ/SERE).


    • Review, coordinate and prepare UTC and DOC Statements annually for approximately 5 units.
    • Review, coordinate and prepare monthly SORTS, DRRS and METs reports and must be able to analyze the data presented by the units and brief possible solutions to senior leadership during monthly briefings.
    • Provide expertise in aircrew training, standardization/evaluation and operations procedures IAW AFI 11-2HC-130 Vol 1 and 3, AFI 16-301 and Major Weapon System (MWS) Technical Orders.  Provide OCR inputs for AFI 11-2HC-130V2 or AFI 11-2 HH-60G Vols 1, 2, and 3.
    • Review, coordinate and prepare HC-130 or HH-60G Instructions and policy (AFI 11-2HC-130 or AFI 11-2HH-60 Vols 1, 2, 3, AFI 16-301, AFTTP 3-1/3 for both MDS’s, and Technical Orders) changes and rewrites IAW governing AFI.
    • Review, coordinate and prepare RAP tasking messages and reports.
    • Review, coordinate and prepare RTRB briefings, and publishes pre and post RTRB products semi-annually.
    • Review, coordinate and prepare response for SIB/AIB.
    • Review, coordinate and prepare mishap review panel brief and semiannual AFSAS review for COMACC.
    • Review, coordinate and prepare waiver packages.
    • Provide support for the development and staffing of Staff packages, CONOPS, CONEMPS, Enabling Concepts, Roadmaps and Contingency Plans.
    • Liaise with Headquarters Air Force (HAF) regarding the HC-130 or HH-60G programs.
    • Liaise with 23rd Wing, 28th Bomb Wing and 49th Wing (primarily the Operations Group) regarding HC-130 or HH-60G operations and training development.
    • Liaise with NGB and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) regarding HC-130 or HH-60G operations, training and sustainment.
    • Coordinate with HC-130 or HH-60G Systems Program Office at Wright Patterson AFB, OH and ACC/A8R for HC-130 or HH-60G system enhancements and assist in defining modernization requirements to support current/future weapon system upgrades, training, sustainment, and employment.
    • Review (bi-annually), coordinate and prepare aircrew position specific training syllabi (IQT/MQT, RQT and Instructor Upgrade for Pilots, Navigators, Flight Engineers, and Loadmasters) and Training Task Lists (TTL).
    • Provides Division level Rescue expertise and daily continuity for the O-6
    • Division Chief and deputies. Coordinate, manage, review and guide all staff actions for the PR Division. Track, review and process administrative and personnel management actions for 30+ personnel in 3 branches, A3JO, A3JT, and A3JS.  Track, review and process the division’s performance reports, decorations, promotions, recognition and awards programs.
    • Lead administrative support office to provide access to, create, distribute, utilize and dispose of official/classified media.  Accomplish and maintain division record management.
    • Build, manage and update division information systems to include Outlook and SharePoint sites. Build and Maintain Division leadership schedules to include conference, meeting agendas and travel plans. Prepare and coordinate office calls, briefings, conference development and special projects.
    • Training A3J Division personnel on ACC specific Task Management Tool
    • Perform action officer duties on general PR issues.


    • Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSA).
    • Possess a Bachelor Degree and a minimum.  5 years PR/Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) operational experience.
    • Possess a minimum of 3 years in NAF, MAJCOM or HAF level staff experience (action officer) to include program and funding actions.  Highly proficient in Task Management Tool program.
