The 556 Test and Evaluation Squadron (TES) is located at Creech AFB, NV, and it is part of the 53 Test and Evaluation Group (TEG), 53 Wing (WG), and United States Air Force Warfare Center (USAFWC). The 556 TES is responsible for Force Development Evaluation (FDE), Tactics Development and Evaluation (TD&E), Operational Utility Evaluation (OUE), Urgent Operational Needs (UONs), suitability evaluations, and various initiatives and demonstrations of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs), their subsystems, hardware and software.
Operate the Predator/Reaper UAS and its sensor(s) during the performance of testing and evaluation.
The pilot will operate test resources and conduct all mission events IAW Government approved program test plans, schedules, procedures, and/or annexes.
Perform all pre mission, mission, and post-mission activities for testing.
For flight test operations the pilot will perform pre- and post-mission activities, and will perform flight testing and operate aircraft and sensors for flight missions.
Act as the pilot-in-command when designated and be responsible for all actions, test profile, mission conduct, emergencies and crew actions for the sortie.
Ability to analyze current and proposed checklist procedures to evaluate efficiency of the flow, unnecessary steps, missing steps, alternative methods.
Ability to analyze system malfunctions not documented in flight manuals and malfunctions/warnings inconsistent with flight manuals
ATP/CP pilot certificate w/instrument rating;
2000 hours total flying time;
1250 hours MQ-1 and/or MQ-9 UAS flying time;
Current or previous MQ-1 and/or MQ-9 instructor pilot with evaluation
3 years’ test experience in a UAS program
Weapons delivery experience is required
TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for SCI.
